On Nov. 22nd the North Jersey Junior Avalanche failed to win over the Junior Titans in a back-and-forth battle ending in a score of 5-4.
Brian Lange from the Titans was first to score with help from Devin Magnusson and Casey Forte. The period closed with the Titans having one penalty for having too many men on the ice; the Avalanche received a penalty for head contact, David Hefferan, and tripping, Liam McLaughlin.
At the start of the second period, Darius Radziszewski from the Titans scored. The Avalanche quickly came back minutes later when Sasha Miniouchine scored assisted by Liam McLaughlin and Tom Palestina. Noah Dorfman tied the game on a power play twelve minutes into the period and Tom Palestina closed the period with a 3-2 lead.
During the third period, Liam McLaughlin scored five minutes into the game with help from CJ Muehlbauer and Hadley Marin. The Avalanche looked as if they had this game as a potential win, but goaltender Tyler Morrel was unable to keep Brian Lange from scoring with just five minutes left in the period. The game ended in a 5-4 loss to the Titans.
“I thought it was a hard fought game. In the first two periods we wanted it more, but it was apparent who wanted those two points when it came down to the last 20 minutes of that game. [I’m] disappointed we couldn’t come away with the W, but we have to keep grinding,” said Morrel.
Peace, love, toodles.
